Årabrot, Haust and Dark Times on the bill for Norwegian label's event at the Old Blue Last

Tonight, we're excited to be hosting a night of bands on Norway's Fysisk Format label, taking place at The Old Blue Last with free entry, because we're generous like that.

Topping the bill will be Quietus favourites Årabrot, who released their latest, self-titled album in August - have a read of main man Kjetil Nernes talking us through the record track-by-track and listen to LP cut 'Blood On Bunny' at the foot of the piece.

They'll be joined by a pair of Oslo punk bands from the roster, Haust and Dark Times - get a primer for them below as well.

Says the label's Kristian Kallevik: "Fysisk Format started up in 2008 in the basement of the Oslo independent record store Tiger. Most of the kids in the Fysisk bands have been regular customers and parasites in the shop before starting their own bands. I guess you can say that the UK-imported records Tiger exposed the kids to ten years ago were grains that are now coming back, slightly metamorphosed as new, living bands.

"We have very little to offer in the classic Norwegian sense of export: we are not doing Social Democratic Black Metal, we will not bring salmon and the closest thing we come to the oil industry is the German vinyl we inscribe our music on. We don't even have a peace prize to offer. All we have is three bands with an offensive sound. But who knows? That might just be the next big thing!"
