Director's Cut of 'Heart-Shaped Box' shown for first time

Anton Corbijn’s ‘Director’s Cut’ of Nirvana’s ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ video has been officially released today for the very first time online.

The video, released as a single on Nirvana’s In Utero in 1993, was directed by Corbijn from a treatment by Cobain himself. The ‘Director’s Cut’ includes alternate footage, namely Cobain lying in a smoke-infused field of poppies, more shots of the little girl in the KKK outfit and the voluptuous woman wearing a human organs lycra onesie parading around the familiar Oz-esque landscape as seen in the original. The multi-format 20th Anniversary reissue of In Utero, featuring a veritable trove of demos, B-sides and compilation tracks, is out on September 23.
