Parisian electro man Georges Vert has his debut album, An Electric Mind, out on August 26 via Melodic Records, and we’ve got a first listen to LP cut ‘Sur Le Vif’. It’s the typically smooth, detailed kind of cut you’d expect from a French synth obsessive: the cheeky keys at the front of the mix get backed up by snatches of wah-wah and a rock solid bassline are unashamedly 80s, decked out no doubt in a pastel suit with a pair of Wayfarers in the pocket. So, it’s an unexpected turn, then, when it goes momentarily cosmos-bound around the midway mark, as that lead synth rockets off into a winding solo – have a listen below:
