Fred Frith - Guitar Solos 1974
This is an old one... my brother, my sister and myself all played guitars as kids, my brother still does. I was interested in the idea of different ways of playing guitar, and I discovered this record when I was quite young. It's funny because now I still like it a lot, but I sometimes think 'just play the guitar the normal way', But it's a great record, I think he's a really interesting guitarist. He did some really interesting records with Evelyn Glennie as well. I've stopped trying to copy him now though. I haven't used any instruments on the record, but I've since got my guitar out, dusted it down and used a recording I've made with that on a track that I'm working on at the moment. I like the idea of actually making instruments.
