Oakland trio set out for nine-date tour next February

Californian metallers High On Fire will be setting out on a tour of England and Scotland at the beginning of February next year.

Fri 1 - O2 Academy 2, Birmingham
Sat 2 - The Sugarmill, Stoke On Trent
Sun 3 - NQ Live, Manchester
Mon 4 - King Tuts, Glasgow
Wed 6 - Thekla, Bristol
Thu 7 - Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
Fri 8 - O2 Islington Academy, London
Sat 9 - Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
Sun 10 - Waterfront, Norwich

The band, comprising Matt Pike (who's also a member of fellow stoner metallers Sleep), Des Kensel and Jeff Matz, had their formative 2000 debut The Art Of Self Defense remastered by Sleep/OFF! producer Brad Boatright earlier this year, reissued as a deluxe edition including their first demo, two bonus 7" tracks and a booklet, which you can get hold of here. The band are also set to play the album in its entirety next year at Tilburg's Roadburn festival.

It was their second album release of the year, following De Vermis Mysteriis. Prepare yourself for the live dates by watching the video below, which packs just about as much rapidfire punk drumming, tight, masterful riffing and motorbikes as is good and decent for this time on a Thursday afternoon:
