Next installation in the app series features a visual trip through the Thin White Duke's career

Soulwax have released a new hour-long film homage to David Bowie, 'Radio Soulwax Presents Dave', as part of their Radio Soulwax app project.

The undertaking began last year with Soulwax founders, brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, deciding to produce a series of hour-long films based on thematically chosen record sleeves, instead of releasing another 2manydjs album. The hope is to eventually compile these into a 24 hour-long loop, which will be accessible online or via the app.

We interviewed them last year about the project, where they told us: "We'd been asked many many times to do a follow up to our first (and only) compilation, which came out in 2002 and it had never really felt right to us. We didn't feel like it made sense anymore these days to spend ages preparing, editing and clearing a compilation CD that is physically limited to just over an hour and would have the shelf life of a month or two at best. It seemed boring to us, so when the time came to we figured we'd do something that fits the way people experience music these days, and that would bring something to the table that our audience couldn't necessarily already do themselves."

The film itself is a brilliantly high-production affair, with such care taken over the details that the number of hours spent over its production probably doesn't bear thinking about. Have a watch below and download the apphere:
