John Peel’s Records: ‘X’ Now Online

A heavy wad of XTC brings us ever closer to the end of The Space's trawl through the late DJ's record collection

The Space continue their mammoth task of cataloguing the first 100 records of each letter, today publishing the ‘X’ collection online.

Beginning with a trio of albums from, yep, you’ve guessed it, 70s US punks X, Wild Gift, Under The Big Black Sun and More Fun In The New World, the list includes a couple of albums from German electopop collective Gina X., Nice Mover and Yinglish, and a sole entry for X-Ray Spex – Germfree Adolescents – before collecting no less than 13 XTC albums.

Head over to the site here, where you can see the full list of ‘X’ albums as well as watch a video of Sheila Ravenscroft introducing XTC and Andy Partridge reflecting on the band’s relationship with Peel.
