Laurie Tuffrey , September 28th, 2012 12:47

We’ve got a pair of tickets for Anglophile folkie and Earth man’s co-headline show with Jarboe at Corsica Studios next month

Ahead of his slot at Supersonic, Dylan Carlson, main man of pioneering US drone merchants Earth, is currently touring his ongoing solo project Drcarlsonalbion, delving deep into his interest in English occult folklore.

His Anglophile tendencies are indulged on two upcoming releases: 'Modern English Folklore Vol.1: Hackney', out on Wormhole, features two tracks with Carlson on guitar and spoken word by The Hackney Lass, aka poet Miss Rosie Knight, while 'La Strega and The Cunning Man In The Smoke', out on Southern Lord, collects his sessions at this year's Latitude Festival, six covers of English songs by artists like Richard Thompson, P.J. Harvey and Reynardine as well as an original composition.

Carlson is co-headlining a gig Corsica Studios, London on October 19 with former Swans vocalist/keyboardist Jarboe. To be in with a chance of winning, just e-mail your answer to following question to comps@thequietus.com, with DYLAN CARLSON in the subject line, by midday Friday October 12.
