The Quietus - A new rock music and pop culture website

LISTEN: Castrovalva's New LP
Laurie Tuffrey , September 28th, 2012 06:10

We've got the exclusive first listen of the noise rockers' new album; tour dates below

Castrovalva, the bonkers Leeds-based noise-rock merchants (and handsome buggers to boot - see above) who evidently spend a lot of time thinking about the words 'hardcore', 'intense' and 'frenetic', have a new album on the way - You're Not in Hell, You're in Purgatory My Friend is out digitally on October 7 and on CD/LP on October 8 via Brew, and we've got a full stream:

The band have stuck fast with their rabid, multi-part cuts, producing something brilliantly manic, which trades in the hip hop-influenced sounds of 2010's We Are A Unit in favour of warped basslines.

As we previously reported, they're off on tour with Nine Black Alps next month - here are the dates:

Wed 10 – King Tuts, Glasgow
Thu 11 – Duchess, York
Sat 13 – Bodega Social Club, Nottingham
Sun 14 – Joiners, Southampton
Mon 15 – Borderline, London
Tue 16 – Green Door Store, Brighton
Wed 17 – Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff
Thu 18 – Exchange, Bristol
Fri 19 – Ruby Lounge, Manchester
