The 10th edition of Krakow's Unsound Festival, which takes place from 14th-21st October this year, has just added a host of new names to bolster an already mightily impressive line-up. Already on the bill were Quietus office favourites like Shackleton, Factory Floor, Hieroglyphic Being, Tim Hecker & Oneohtrix Point Never, Traxman and Vatican Shadow. This weekend's second-to-last announcement has further broadened the reach of the festival, adding a number of respected names from the experimental/noise underground alongside several pop-leaning curveballs.

Heading up the announcement is something which could either prove to be stunning or frankly baffling: a live collaboration between Jamal 'Hieroglyphic Being' Moss and Ital, which goes under the title of Interplanetary Prophets. This is a world debut for the project, which has been specially commissioned by Unsound for the festival. There are definite connections between the two musicians' approaches - not least a healthy disregard for what the dancefloor ought to expect - though just as many differences, so it should at the very least interesting to hear how they bring their sounds together into a coherent performance.

Another major addition is a collaboration with Berlin's CTM Festival to present a showcase event for Bill Kouligas' PAN label. On the bill is recent Quietus interviewee and composer of the essential Deviation 12" Heatsick, who will be performing the world debut of a set entitled Extended Play, a "3 hour set performed on a solitary Casio through a myriad of effects to create a 'funky wormhole'." He's joined by NHK'Koyxen, whose show at a PAN event in London earlier this year was among the most memorable of 2012 so far, an abrasive and battered-sounding trawl through hip-hop and techno that nonetheless retained a compulsive momentum thoughout. Two London artists are also on the PAN bill - Bass Clef, due to release a 12" through PAN around the time of the show, and Helm, whose Impossible Symmetry album made good Olympics listening in the office. In addition Ben Vida will be performing, and Kouligas himself will be DJing.

Along similar lines are the hollowed out post-industrial spaces of Emptyset, whose show will be accompanied by visuals by AntiVJ, and Blackest Ever Black signings Black Rain. Container and Bee Mask will both be playing live, representing the Spectrum Spools label, a subsidiary of Editions Mego. Andy Votel will be performing 'Kleksploitation', another special commission for the festival, which is a homage to Polish film trilogy Pan Kleks. Ducktails and Holly Herndon have also been added.

On the dancefloor, Berlin's techno experimentalist and man-of-many-names Shed (pictured, top) will be performing a live show, as will Vessel and Teengirl Fantasy. Oneman will be DJing, as will Fatima Al Qadiri, who also releases music under the name Ayshay.

There will apparently be one more announcement, set to feature more Polish artists, as well as a full release regarding the programme of films and talks that takes place throughout the week.
