The Quietus Presents: King Midas Sound & JK Flesh
The Quietus , July 3rd, 2012 11:12

Aieeee! We celebrate Supersonic's 10th anniversary in London & Brum

You want heavy? We can give you heavy. Supersonic Festival and The Quietus would like to present two shows this Autumn featuring King Midas Sound and JK Flesh.

The pair of heavyweight talents will be appearing at Eastside Projects in Birmingham on August 4 and then at Corsica Studios in London on August 9.

Our friends at Capsule Lisa and Jenny are putting together what promises to be their best line-up to date for the tenth Supersonic festival and have persuaded old friends and musical sparring partners Kevin Martin and Justin Broadrick to share a stage again.

King Midas Sound System will be dropping DJ exclusive dubs, versions and remixes as well as bleeding other artists' music into the astounding sound design. Featuring live vocals by Kiki Hitomi and Roger Robinson with Kevin Martin at the controls, be prepared for a sonic adventure into the deep. All of the Quietus team were privileged to watch KMS in full flow at Village Underground recently and can attest that this will be one of the gigs of the year.

JK Flesh will be playing caustic post industrial metal dub in the form of tracks from his recent Posthuman album which came in at number 19 in our recent half year albums chart. As fans of Final, Godflesh, Head of David, Napalm Death, Techno Animal and Greymachine will attest Broadrick is the overlord of all things brutal, bleak and, ultimately, cleansing.

Of course, as readers of a certain vintage will remember, Martin and Broadrick used to play together in Techno Animal so no doubt friendly rivalry will help to push the events into the stratosphere.

The last time the pair shared a stage in the UK was at Supersonic when King Midas Sound and Godflesh went head to head, which caused a very pleasant rupture in the space time continuum.

In Birmingham, the groups will be supported by Iron Fist Of The Sun, Laurence Hunt and Sarah Farmer, and you can buy tickets here. Special guests for Corsica are yet to be announced, for ticket information go here

There'll be more news on this gig as and when we have it and in the mean time you can get all the latest on Supersonic Festival here.
