Holy Other announces debut album Held through Tri Angle - listen to a track below

Holy Other, the Tri Angle signed artist working in that blurry area between sub-heavy post-dubstep and R&B, has announced the release of his debut album Held. It's the follow up to 2011's well received With U, and again will be released through Tri Angle, on 27th August. You can listen to the first song to emerge from the album, 'Love Some1', below.

Like his previous music, its sliced vocals and generally urban, spacious feel brings to mind Burial, albeit stripped of the garage-y, woodblock-y swing that characterises Burial productions. However, the press release states that the album as a whole was also influenced by Gregorian chant music, and that its "newfound influence is most keenly felt in the monastic atmosphere that haunts sections of the album, as well as the ways in which Holy Other uses the voice in a way that sounds devotional and comforting in one instant, and unknowable and distant in another."

Its tracklist runs as follows:

'(W)here'
'Tense Past'
'Inpouring'
'Love Some1'
'U Now'
'In Difference'
'Past Tension'
'Held'
'Nothing Here'

Held is released through Tri Angle on 27th August.
