Birmingham festival announces Body/Head - Kim Gordon and Bill Nace - for its tenth birthday edition this October

Birmingham's bloody good Supersonic Festival celebrates its tenth edition this 19th-21st October, with a line-up that's already starting to look skull-crushingly good. Once again, we've joined up with the festival as media partners, so expect the 2012 edition to again be graced by various members of Quietus staff getting involved and generally being squashed under the weight of heavy riffage.

This week they've announced another exciting addition to the line-up - Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Boston noise guitarist Bill Nace, who will be performing as their duo Body/Head. So far they've been comparatively low-key, playing a few shows, releasing a cassette through Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label and contributing a track to an Ultra Eczema compilation. It's a UK exclusive performance from the duo, and for some idea of what to expect you can watch a video below.

They join a line-up that's already blessed with a mightily impressive set of names, including Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore, Dope Body, Carlton Melton, Dylan Carlson, Flower/Corsano Duo, Goat, JK Flesh, Lichens, Rangda, Sir Richard Bishop, Six Organs Of Admittance, C_C, Devilman, Koyxeи, DJ Scotch Bonnet, Kakawaka, Tim Hecker and Zeni Geva.

Early bird tickets for the festival have already sold out, but weekend tickets are still available from here. For more information head across to the Supersonic website.
