Here’s a treat to brighten the dreariest of February days – our chums at Sonic Cathedral have kindly given us the excellent new Yeti Lane album to stream.
The Echo Show comes out in the UK on March 5 but you can have an early listen on the player below.
Yeti Lane – who are probably the only band whose name refers equally to The Beatles and Amon Duul II – have been stripped down to a core duo of Ben Pleng and Charlie B after the departure of founding member LoAc Carron.
But if anything their sun-kissed Gallic pop has become even more luxurious since the release of their awesome self-titled debut at the start of 2010
This is dream pop in excelsis, with lush overtones of Ulrich Schnauss, Harmonia, Simon and Garfunkel and Spacemen 3.
Fingers crossed that Yeti Lane make more of an impact with this astounding album than they did with their debut but even if they don’t, this has future cult classic written all over it as it stands to be compared to the likes of Pure Phase by Spiritualized and Sophtware Slump by Grandaddy.
Keep your eyes on the Quietus for more on Yeti Lane later in the year.
