Amazing line-up starts to take shape

A host of the Quietus' favourite electronic artists are to appear at the Bloc Weekend, which fast looks as if it is becoming one of the finest festivals of the summer. Bloc takes place at the new venue of London Pleasure Gardens, Royal Victoria Docks, in London, on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 July. The London Pleasure Gardens is a huge, dockside site located behind the former Spillers Flour Mill - see photo below.

The bookers have started to put together an incredible bill that is a veritable who's who of the best of dance music ancient and modern. Thus far, the line-up includes Gary Numan, Orbital, Squarepusher, Shackleton, Ricardo Villaobos, Jeff Mills, Alva Noto, Byetone, Actress, Sandwell District, Four Tet, Carl Craig, Joker, Clark, Flying Lotus, Martyn, Appleblim, Bok Bok, Doom, Apparat, and Digital Mystikz. Atol, a collaboration between Modeselektor, Shed and Marcel Dettmann, will also be playing, and many more acts are still to be announced.

All of the venues for Bloc are being intelligently designed from scratch, with sound in mind - using acoustic draping, sound proofing and high spec systems. Tickets are now on sale priced at £99 for the weekend, or £125 for an express weekend ticket offering quick entry queue jump, separate bars and more.
