Synthesiser-based record to raise money for synthesiser-based cause

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of its founding, the Bob Moog Foundation has released a new EP by Tara Busch via Bandcamp. Synth composer and blogger Busch donated the EP, entitled Rocket Wife, in order to help raise money for the Foundation, which was set up a year after synth pioneer Bob Moog's death in 2005. Full details and the EP are available at the Foundation's website.

Says Busch of the EP: “This is a homage not only to Bob Moog and his legacy, but to the effect the synthesizer had on my music, creativity, and life. What Bob did, most famously with the Minimoog, was to make the groundbreaking world of synthesis available to everybody, not just for the privileged few."

As well as the release of the EP, which unsurprisingly given its inspiration is built around on pretty, drifting synths, the Foundation is also running a remix competition between now and mid-October. The money raised through the EP and remix project is aimed at helping to bring Moog synths into schools to help teach school children science through synthesis.

More information on the EP and the projects surrounding it are available at the Bob Moog Foundation website.
