LISTEN: New Bon Iver Track 'Calgary'
Luke Turner , May 16th, 2011 17:21

It's ace! Smooth! Woah!

You may recall that around the release of Bon Iver's first album, For Emma, Forever Ago many of us at the Quietus were madly perplexed at what all the fuss was about. What, bloke goes to a shed and has a little cry? we er, cried, not liking it much at all. It's therefore a pleasant surprise to report that the new Bon Iver track 'Calgary', which has emerged online today, is something of a cracker. Justin Veron's presence in Gayngs alerted us to the fact that he was a man partial to the smoother things in life, and 'Calgary' is puddin' proof. Like so many things at the moment, it glows with a hint of Talk Talk, deep and lush and warm. If the rest of his forthcoming LP hits this high, it could be a fascinating transatlantic partner piece to Wild Beasts' Smother Luke has just had a conversion experience, listen below and tell us what you think below.
