The Quietus - A new rock music and pop culture website

Mamuthones And Exotic Pylon Sinfonia Live
John Doran , May 12th, 2011 09:48

This Friday at the Vortex Jazz Club in Dalston, The Quietus’ Jonny Mugwump is throwing his monthly exotic pylon night.

This month stars the Exotic Pylon Sinfonia (Position Normal, I am a Vowel, Time Attendant, Kathy Pearlson and Schema Film) ), abstract audio-visual duo Sculpture, Mamuthones- a 4-piece Italian psych-rock-drone quartet (featuring the extraordinary wildcard of 62-year-old drummer Maurizio Boldrin a veteran of countless Italian scenes and ex-member of Pino Donaggio’s band) and the intense obsessive hyper-horror duo Jigoku comprising Cherrystones and DJ Lovely Jon. Jigoku have been mashing up exploitation visuals with genre-trashing DJ/performance sets for many years now and deserve some long-due recognition.

Tickets are £8 from here, you can read more about it here and look below to check out some prime Jigoku intensities...
