Massive Attack - Compilation
I picked this compilation because it encompasses everything about Massive Attack – it's the approach that you admire rather than anything else, so it's very difficult to pick one album. I could have picked Mezzanine or Blue Lines, which is great, but overall what I like about them is their approach to using guest singers, their approach to making sure that all their records have that spaciousness of sound, and that atmosphere that they manage to create each time that's very recognisable. I guess they're one of the nearest groups to what I try and do with my projects, with bringing in guest vocalists and making sure that the atmospheric content is deep and quite dark.
