Æthenor Play Quietus/ Rockfeedback Gig

As anyone who read Jack Mills’ interview with Stephen O’Malley recently will know that we’re fans of the heavy avant improv unit Æthenor.

So we’re proud to announce that Rockfeedback, in association with The Quietus are presenting a performance by the band at Bush Hall, West London, on Thursday June 2.

Æthenor is the international improvisational project of O’Malley (Sunn O))), KTL), Daniel O’Sullivan (Ulver), Kristoffer Rygg (Ulver, Arcturus) and Steve Noble (N.E.W., Company) – a key member of the British Free Jazz Improvisation scene. Their latest release En Form For Blå documents the continued evolution of this unlikely collective, a collision of players from various avant, improv and metal threads who together make a unique and arresting sound. Documenting three gigs in Oslo recorded in 2010, the music is deep and weird, with liquid sounds juddering around the occasionally identifiable percussion or Rhodes motif.

Watch this space to find out who the special guests are. The Quietus co-pilots will be playing selected cuts from the furthest extremes of their record collections before and after the performance.

Tickets available from here or here. The box office number is: 08444 771000
