“Massive” Foo Fighters Album Imminent

"No ballads" says Grohl

Whopping rock troupe Foo Fighters have promised that their new, seventh, album is to be a smasher. Mainman Dave Grohl told enthusiastic hairball Zane Lowe’s Radio One show that the record, which as yet has no title and will be out in the spring, that "There’s 11 songs and front to back there’s not one sleepy ballad. We did it without any computers and it just sounds massive."

The album is the first time that Grohl has worked with producer Butch Vig since his days in Nirvana, something that all parties seem very excited about. "Butch [Vig] swears that he’s had more fun making this record than any other record than he’s made in his life – that’s a lot of records," said Grohl. "It’s different to any other Foo Fighters album because it just sounds big. It was really inspiring. We entered into this project with a direction. The first song we started recording the tape just started shredding."
