Baltimore art-punks Double Dagger are playing a show at Cargo, London tonight – and Quietus pilot John Doran heartily recommends you check it out.
After seeing them last week, Doran enthused: "I went to see Double Dagger in a tiny room over the Lock Tavern in Chalk Farm on Friday and they nearly tore the building down. The singer, who looks like that Russian cannibal serial killer, warned us that anyone holding drinks was likely to lose them and he wasn’t lying.
"I ended up covered in beer and bruises. Everyone was diving off the furniture. Even the bar staff stopped serving drinks and came round to start moshing instead. And despite playing on borrowed gear, with a drumkit that kept on threatening to fall to bits, the show was phenomenal, one of the best this year so far coming on like some ultra-fun mix of Lightning Bolt, Black Flag and NOMEANSNO. I’d urge anyone to go and see them with Ganglians tonight at Cargo if they live in London."
