Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio are set to play UK and European dates later this year.

The former Velvet Underground singer will be joined by Ulrich Kriege and Sarth Calhoun on the tour which is inspired by Reed's Metal Machine Music album.

Although the trio won't duplicate the Metal Machine Music LP, they have promised "A Night of Deep Noise".

Ah, just what The Quietus loves: Stern noise.
