John Hughes was a comedy genius who perfectly captured the trails and tribulations of the American suburban teen. He created some of the most memorable films of the 80s including The Breakfast Club, Christmas Vacation, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Christmas Vacation

The older one gets, the less magical Christmas becomes. There’s money to be spent, appointments to keep and relatives to suffer. To explore these themes, Hughes wisely returned to Clark Griswold, one of his finest creations. Chevy Chase’s frustrated everyman spends so much time trying to survive the most glorious of holidays, he doesn’t even notice that his kids look completely different.
