Goblin
Never has the mid life crisis sounded so good. Somehow, Goblin's funked-out synthproggery is more apposite to this atmosphere of unconditional affection than to its original horror-camp context. Perhaps love is more universal than gore, or perhaps it's me who's having the mid-life crisis. Who cares? They sound so satisfying, so crisply textured and interesting; this music is still so idiosyncratic, deftly bending genre idioms to its will. PD
