Soft indie-rockers Keane took a pop at Britpoppers Blur during their performance headlining the NME / Radio One Stage last night at T In The Park.
The band’s set clashed with that of festival headliners Blur, prompting singer Tom Chaplin to announce to crowd members who were chanting in between songs: "Right, I might as well repeat it seeing as you said it. For those of you at the back, they’re singing: ‘Who the fucking hell are Blur?!’
"Well, they’re a band from the 90’s…".
Earlier, the singer had also told the crowd: "Thank you coming to see us instead of going to see Blur.
"We really appreciate it! All we ask you to do now – and we know you will anyway – is sing your fucking hearts out."
Blur’s own headline set was in doubt after Graham Coxon was struck down with an illness, but the guitarist was rushed from the hospital to the festival, although the band were nearly an hour-and-a-half late.
Frontman Damon Albarn hinted that the show would be Blur’s final performance, telling the crowd: ""We nearly didn’t make it. Graham literally walked out of a hospital to come here. He’s alright. This is our last gig."
