The Devil Wears Prada

Sure, the fashion industry is shallow. But, in its defence, it’s also quite cruel and dehumanising. Anyone who remembers Kevin Spacey’s insult-hurling studio executive in Swimming with Sharks will recognise Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly, whose evil behaviour was rumoured to be based on Vogue editor Anna Wintour but, based on the stories that kick around Hollywood, could just as easily have been based on Scott Rudin.
