Support will come from The Horrors

Nine Inch Nails frotnman Trent Reznor has announced that the band will play a series of live shows later this year to mark their final ever gigs.

The post-industrial rockers will play shows in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as headlining this year's V Festival in Toronto, Canada.

Originally the band had intended for their show at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee last month to be their last in the US, but they have since changed their mind.

Speaking on the band's official website, he said: "Getting right to the point, we're going to play a handful of shows in NYC, Chicago and LA starting August 22nd. They will be informal affairs in medium to small venues with longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises.

"Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end NIN that way.

"An offer to headline V-Fest in Toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some FUN shows to end this up with. If we can get it together we'll film these shows, too."

Quietus favourites The Horrors will support the band at some of the New York shows, while Mew will support the band in all three cities.
