Kaiser Chiefs Deny Drop Rumours

Though they are having "a break"

Earlier this year scissor-kicking twits the Kaiser Chiefs were forced to deny that they were to split up following the poor reception accorded to last album Off With Their Heads (read the Quietus review).

Now the band have been forced to issue a statement refuting tabloid reports that their label B-Unique had slung 'em out with the garbage. Music industry bible News Of The World claimed that the band had been given the heave-ho: "It’s a natural parting from the label. Ricky wants to do some TV and Andrew is set to be a dad," a 'source' told the red top.

But a label spokesperson told NME.com that there was "no contractual change to report". They did reveal, however, that the band would be having a bit of a rest. "The band has two records left to run on an existing contract," the statement says, "Kaiser Chiefs will take their first break in six years at the end of the summer. As with many successful artists, the band is considering creative options to improve the way their music reaches people ahead of their fourth album." Perhaps transmitting it through a vacuum?
