Band not getting on, Nine Inch Nails man steps in

A much worshipped alternative rock band from America being plagued by infighting? Yep, it could only be Jane's Addiction.

Lead singer Perry Farrell has reportedly been clashing with bassist Eric Avery since the group reformed in 2008.

Avery had originally left the group in 1991, but returned to reform the original line up last year.

Farrell told Reuters:

"I'm not going to tell you it's been all smooches and hugs. But it shouldn't be because that would be a bore.

"I just talked to Eric man-to-man. We're different people, that's okay.

"I'm overjoyed that we're working together. I don't care that we butt heads as long as when we hit the stage we blast on people."

Farrell also revealed that Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, who has been working as a producer with the band, assumed the role of peacemaker between the band members.

"He did his best to be both producer and psychologist,” he added.

"I wish he would've produced a little more, but he was a little gun shy after seeing us explode on each other in the studio.

"He became the referee for a day and after that day I think he was done."
