Good Body-Switching
2. Peggy Sue Got Married
Francis Ford Coppola's stab at the genre is, unsurprisingly, the most sober use of body-swapping. Even though it indulges in the fun of an adult in a child's body (she's unmovable in her stance that she will never need to use algebra in her life), the film comes to the eventual conclusion that our fate is sealed and we are doomed to make the same mistakes no matter what the situation. Peggy Sue's arc does not go from unhappy to happy but from unhappy to accepting. Plus, a small turn by Jim Carrey beats a small turn by Pauly Shore any day.
