Snoop Dogg masterminds Johnny Cash remix album

No, no, it's not a belated April Fool but the love child of Snoop Dogg, Mathew Knowles and Cash's son, John Carter Cash.

The album Johnny Cash Remixed will feature remix interpretations of Cash classics by Alabama 3, The Heavy, Apparat, Buck 65 and more.

The songs in the collection were originally recorded between 1956-1959 with Cash's first band the Tennessee Two.

"He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, the CD touches on undiscovered ground. My father was about staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking music." says John Carter Cash

Johnny Cash Remixed is also available in a deluxe CD/DVD package, which includes a documentary DVD about the making of the album and glimpses of Snoop Dogg recording vocals at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The album is due for UK release on June 15.
