Throbbing Gristle Plan US Tour
The Quietus , February 3rd, 2009 11:10

First American dates in a quarter century

Anyone who has seen Throbbing Gristle on one of their rare live outings in recent years will know that they're a force to be reckoned with, especially after a magic coffee or too. For a full explanation, read The Quietus' review of TG's 32nd Annual Report live album.

Now our transatlantic brethren are to be blessed with a series of spring dates from Genesis P'Orridge and cohorts, including the previously reported upon stop-off at the Coachella Festival. These will be the first TG USA dates since 1981, and the first ever on the US Eastern seaboard.

The short tour will see Throbbing Gristle playing sets "from across TG's history", with some dates also featuring a live soundtracking of Derek Jarman's film In The Shadow Of The Sun.

Most events will also feature a signing session, plus special tour-only merch will be for sale.

Throbbing Gristle US tour dates:

April 16th - New York Masonic Hall (Jarman soundtrack and TG set)

April 19th - Coachella Festival (in a tent at 19.00)

April 21st - Los Angeles UCLA (Jarman soundtrack) (TBC)

April 23rd - San Francisco Grand Regency Ballroom (TG set)

April 25th - Chicago Epiphany Episcopal (Jarman soundtrack and TG set)
