JESSE PINTADO (Terrorizer, Napalm Death)

Most Grinding Genius Guitarist

FACTOID! You owe him a lot, punk!

The late Jesse Pintado, who died suddenly in 2006, was partly responsible for the rise of grindcore, among the heaviest genres of music ever invented. Solos were minimal and the focus remained on the main riff in almost every song, with Jesse’s precision phenomenally tight given his age (a mere 20 when Terrorizer started out), and the lack of precedent for this kind of music. His pioneering riffs with his band, a sporadic outfit which defined the new grind sound at the end of the 1980s, will endure for a long time to come.
