ZAKK WYLDE (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society)

Most Neanderthal Guitarist

FACTOID!

He used to sport high-waisted trousers in the 80s. Woo!
Wylde, whose accomplished alternate picking and willingness to experiment with non-metal techniques such as chicken-picking places him very high on the list, is a charismatic character over and above his guitar playing. A hulking, muscular figure with a huge beard and fondness for endless bottles of Sierra Nevada beer, Wylde is the heavy metal archetype, telling one interviewer that he likes to keep his life ‘real simple’, basing it on playing the guitar, lifting weights and spending quality time with his wife and children. Grrrr.
