Noel: Does like Damon Albarn

Britpop battle was “pathetic”.

Noel

It seems that seldom a day passes without Noel Gallagher saying something to remind us all that Oasis do actually exist (and have an album out that he wants to try and shift at Christmas).

This time thought he’s taken the high road, and in a change from the ‘he’s crap, they’re rubbish’ tune, has taken the unusual move of complimenting someone.

In an interview with the Guardian the Oasis guitarist called the mid-nineties Britpop battle between Blur and Oasis “Pathetic”.

Mr Charisma continued: “Looking back now that fight's all so pathetic over two really quite shit pop songs.”

13 years on from the simultaneous releases of ‘Roll With It’ and ‘Country House’ Noel went on to say that former Blur front man Damon Albarn is a “great artist”.

Adding: “He's different from me. I'm not an artist – for me, it just comes out. He does Chinese operas and that kind of thing, he's got more strings to his bow than I'll ever have.”

Albarn shouldn’t be expecting a Christmas card any time soon though, as when asked if the pair got on Noel briefly remembered his public persona, saying: “There's always been something between me and him, and I don't know what it is.”
