Choke and Cinema's Most Adventurous Book Adaptations
David Moats , November 24th, 2008 03:26

Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk's work is notoriously difficult to translate into film. Dave Moats reviews the latest adaptation Choke and collects the 10 most adventurous book to film adaptations.

The Devils

The Devils is loosely based on The Devils of London by Aldous Huxley. The book is scandalous enough to make the Marquis de Sade blush and the movie didn't pull any punches with the critics. Roger Ebert gave it zero stars which only makes me like it more. The story is padded with Ken Russell's trademark heavy handed but awesome religious imagery.
