Zack and Miri And The Sex Industry On The Silver Screen
David Bax , November 21st, 2008 09:49

Bettie Page

A curiously unmoving film in some ways, details of Page's pre-modelling life (domestic abuse, gang rape) are tossed out as mere biographical trivia. It is hard to think of another film about pornography that features so much nudity that is so utterly asexual. Instead director Mary Harron makes amazing use of costume, location and film stock to gloriously fetishize the look of the 50s. Which perhaps is a fitting tribute to the model after all.
