Bryan Ferry To Be Awarded “Icon” Gong

Bryan Ferry to receive accolade from American royalties firm. Oh yes.

Fox hunting fan and former M&S model Bryan Ferry is to be awarded the Iron Cross, First Class BMI Icon award for his services to music.

Ferry will be presented with the US industry award at a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel on October 7th, 2008. The BMI collects US royalties for UK and European artists, and set up the award to recognise musicians who have made "a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers."

Previous winners include Peter Gabriel, Ray Davies and Dolly Parton.
