Cult film crew Cigarette Burns return to the Rio Cinema this Saturday September 8 to host a welcome big screen outing for Milano Calibro 9, the epochal first part of Fernando Di Leo’s early ’70s Milieu Trilogy. This Eurocrime staple stars Gastone Moschin as a newly released ex-convict trying to go straight, with further memorable performances by Barbara Bouchet and Mario Adorf. It’s also famed for an opening sequence soundtracked by Italian prog-rockers Osanna, in conjunction with orchestral score composer Luis Enríquez Bacalov (see below).
The lights go down just after 11.30pm and the main feature will be bookended by period-specific musical selections from DJ Cherrystones. Click here for more information and, if you haven’t done so already, be sure to read event organiser Josh Saco’s FrightFest 13th report.
