LISTEN: Swans – The Seer

Listen to the entirety of Swans' mighty new album

As we’ve previously reported, Swans are set to release their new album and follow-up to 2010’s My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky next week.

Entitled The Seer, it’s a mighty continuation of a blistering run of current form that’s found their live sets taking on a profound and overwhelming physicality (read Joseph Burnett’s recent review of Swans at OFF Festival here), something further displayed with the release of their recent live album. It also features a veritable who’s who of guest artists – they include Ben Frost, Karen O, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker of Low, members of Akron/Family, Grasshopper from Mercury Rev and former Swans member Jarboe.

With The Seer set for release next week, they’ve now made the entire album available for your listening pleasure via a stream over at NPR. Click here to listen (you’ll have to sit through an advert or two first).

The band are also playing a few dates in November, with Sir Richard Bishop in support – see below for tour dates.

NOVEMBER

15th – London, Koko

16th – Glasgow, The Arches

17th – Manchester, Sound Control
