As we’ve previously reported, underground pop icon Ariel Pink is set to release his new album with his Haunted Graffiti band through 4AD next week. Entitled Mature Themes – seemingly a nod, according to the title track’s lyrics, to Pink’s continued attempts to grow up – it’s the follow-up to 2010’s well-received Before Today, which featured higher fidelity reworkings of several of older tracks. Like its predecessor, Mature Themes continues to take Pink’s sound into zones of clearer definition, while still drawing for the same adult contemporary pop and AM radio rock sounds that informed his early music.
