Cosmic hip-hop explorer Flying Lotus has posted a new mix of summertime slow jams, report The Stool Pigeon. The mix, which he’s accompanied with artwork by contemporary and signing to his Brainfeeder label Jeremiah Jae, is available to download from the Brainfeeder website here. It’s the sequel to the first two instalments in the mix series, which he put out last year.
It’s been a good week for new FlyLo music – on Tuesday, we posted that he’d dropped a pair of instrumentals on his Soundcloud. This flurry of activity all arrives as a prelude to the release of his new album and sequel to 2010’s acclaimed Cosmogramma, entitled Until The Quiet Comes. That’s set to land on October 1st via Warp, and it’s reported to feature a heady array of special guests, including long-term musical sparring partners Thundercat and Laura Darlington, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke (who also made an appearance on Cosmogramma) and new addition to the FlyLo collaborator roster Erykah Badu.
