The Quietus Presents: My Disco!

...again!

The Quietus putting on brilliant Melbourne trio My Disco is becoming something of an autumn tradition for us. In 2010, we hosted them supported by Factory Floor and Snowman. In 2011, they came back, this time with Blood Music… and in 2012 My Disco will once again take to the stage at London’s Lexington. The gig will be a follow-up to their appearance at Supersonic Festival the weekend before – what better way to recover from the rigours of Digbeth, says us. For My Disco are, hands down, one of the most powerful live groups going at the moment, from the Antipodes or anything else. Their minimal, intense music, last year on the fantastic 2011 album Little Joy (one of our favourites of the year) is perhaps best described as being "like a techno Shellac"… in fact, they’re so stripped-down they make Albini’s crew sound like King Crimson. They will get us a dance-off going and no mistake. The Quietus Presents My Disco at The Lexington takes place on October 23rd, and you can buy tickets here. And get in the mood with this brilliant track:
