Robin Fox To Play Cafe Oto

Audiovisual explorer to bring his stunning sound/light crossover to Cafe Oto

Robin Fox is set to bring his audiovisual show to London’s Cafe Oto on Sunday 16th September. One of the highlights of last year’s Unsound Festival in Krakow, Fox’s approach is quite unique, and stems from his interest in the crossover regions between our perceptions of light and sound. Feeding the same signal to a bank of lasers as to the speakers, he creates an exact visual representation of the sound being played. Certain patterns of synthetic tones create distinct patterns of laser light, and the entire room becomes a kind of 3D canvas, swallowing the audience whole. You can watch a video of one of his performances below.

Alongside Fox will be Sally Golding, a London-based artist whose performances combine film projection with music, and Tom James Scott, who uses contemporary compositional approaches to reimagine songs.
