Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster Reform!!

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR MENTAL???!?!?!

There was a period of time about ten years ago, before The Libertines came and ruined everything, when British guitar pop was in rude health, with bands like Ikara Colt, Kaito, McLusky and Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster delivering fierce, uncompromising LPs and gigs. Eighties Matchbox were arguably the finest live band of the lot, delivering intense, punishing performances that’d see singer Guy McKnight puking over himself with exertion. It was age of bottles of whiskey down the pants and two quid pills… They really should have been damn huge.

We’re therefore interested to report that the band have decided to reform with their original line-up, including guitarist Andy Huxley (also of the criminally underrated Vile Imbeciles). Eighties Matchbox will play London Electric Ballroom on Halloween, 31 October 2012, preceded by Manchester, Club Academy (29th) and Brighton Concorde (30th). The band will also re-release the single ‘Chicken’, recently and bizarrely seen on a Nike commercial, on August 20th, originally taken from their storming 2002 debut Horse Of The Dog.
