Animal Collective Call For Album Leak

Baltimore-bred whizzes want _Merriweather Post Pavilion_ made available in full

Peculiar rumblings in the Quietus’ inbox this morning as Animal Collective’s Brian Weitz aka Geologist writes asking that his band’s new album Merriweather Post Pavilion (read our track-by-track review be leaked in its entirety following the appearance of two of its tracks on the internet.

Grizzly Bear had a run-in with the Web Sheriff after they made album highlight ‘Brothersport’ available on their blog in a state of excitable fandom – they later apologised for their gaffe – while ‘My Girls’ was also leaked for a brief period of time from an unknown source.

The full missive runs:

"it has come to my attention that 2 full length tracks off of our upcoming album, merriweather post pavilion have surfaced online. david, noah, and I please ask that someone assist us and leak all of the remaining tracks on the album.

the album is intended to be heard as a whole, and nothing bothers us more than individual tracks leaking and ruining the the overall album experience

Geologist"

…or did he? Could there be something altogether more phishy going on here? We’ll wait ’til we have rock solid confirmation that this is actually Brian and not just an impostor with a false headlamp before we bring you more on this.
