As we previously reported, the Incubate Festival, which is set to take place in Tilburg, Netherlands from 10th-16th September, has already assembled an impressive line-up that includes the likes of Laibach, Damo Suzuki, Silver Apples, Black Dice, Mi Ami, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Andy Stott, Conan, Busdriver and Maria & The Mirrors.
As of today they’ve announced a number of new names to bolster the bill still futher. First up is former Throbbing Gristle members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti, playing as Chris & Cosey. As well as being hugely influential on a whole range of modern electronic musicians, their live shows over the last couple of years have been stunning, and this year’s Transverse, as Carter Tutti Void (in collaboration with Nik Colk Void from Factory Floor), is one of our favourites of 2012 so far. They’ll be performing on Friday 14th September.
Also added are another set of Quietus favourites – Kevin Martin’s spooked lovers’ dub project King Midas Sound. Their album Waiting For You was buried in murk and ambient sound, but in keeping with the abrasive sonic violence of much of Martin’s work over the years, King Midas Sound live is a formidable and terrifying proposition, all heaving walls of sub-bass doing battle with half-sung, half-spoken vocals. They’re set to perform on Wednesday 12th.
In addition, they’ve confirmed Matt Elliott, the Bristol guitarist who has also recorded under the name Third Eye Foundation and worked with the likes of Mogwai, The Pastels and has played in Yann Tiersen’s band. He’ll be playing on Saturday 15th, as will Tiersen himself, the French musician whose compositions defy easy categorisation, but is best known for his soundtrack to Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s film Amelie.
There are more acts still to be announced. The festival’s shows take place across a number of venues within the city throughout its duration, and there are currently a few limited early-bird passes for the entire festival for €60 (£49). Once they’re sold out, tickets are €75 (£60), and day tickets are also available (Monday to Thursday at €15 per day; Friday, Saturday, Sunday at €27.50 per day).
