Young Hunting, the Edinburgh-based crew who released a rather good recent EP through Blackest Ever Black, entitled The Night Of The Burning, are currently in the process of recording a full-length for the label. Their sound fits the label’s none-darker aesthetic like a glove, but offers something slightly separate from the harsher, more mechanical textures of labelmates like Raime and Vatican Shadow. Instead, they tap into more richly orchestrated, folk-leaning forms, blurring dense electronics with soft string drones, live-sounding percussion and the odd vocal.
As a prologue to their upcoming album for the label, they’re now offering a free track, entitled ‘A List Of Indignities’, for download from the Blackest Ever Black site.
