LISTEN: Laurel Halo – Light & Space

Stream the closing track from Halo's upcoming Hyperdub album

If you hadn’t already noticed, we’re fans of Laurel Halo here at the Quietus. We loved her Hour Logic EP from last year enough to put it in our favourite records of 2011. Her more recent 12" for Mute’s new Liberation Technologies label has continued her run of form. Her music is interested in everything from the internet and human communication, to hard science, particle physics and the peculiar state of the modern world (for more, read our interview with her from last year). And her upcoming debut full-length for Hyperdub is something quite different again: Quarantine is a pop-leaning record, beautifully produced and texturally very deep, but with no shortage of darker, harder edges. It’s released at the end of May.

Gorilla vs. Bear are now streaming the final track from the album, ‘Light & Space’. It’s very good. You can listen to it here.
